Challenge time! You have 1 chance to play six games of Tic-Tac-Toe against me. If you don't lose any of them then you'll get six points. I recommend practicing some against other students first and though many of you have figured out almost all of these already, here is a quick explanation on how to never lose if you want to check your answers.
www.quora.com/Is-there-a-way-to-never-lose-at-Tic-Tac-Toe One of the best snow boarders in the world is only 13. How does that happen? Practice, practice, practice. Chloe Kim has been practicing snow boarding since she was 4 years old. Read about her here: http://www.denverpost.com/wintersports/ci_25304476/chloe-kim-just-13-enjoys-being-snowboardings-next And watch her win the silver medal here!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8bUIPsMh_M They say you need to put 10,000 hours into a skill to really master it. That's doing something for six hours a day for about five years. What would you like to become amazing at, why? and how many hours of practice do you think you've done of it so far? Become an expert public speaker! Tell us about something in science you're interested in (Dinosaurs, The Pilgrims, The Lives of Your Favorite Movie Stars and Band Members, anything!), or choose something awesome from Dogo News or other sites to tell us about!
When you give your speech you'll be amazing at it and get loads of point if you: Speak clearly and loudly Speak with enthusiasm and emotion Make eye contact with everyone in the room Use arm motions while talking to illustrate your points. People who can do these things are able to make other people really interested in what they say, and that's the point! Entertain and teach us! Name:______________
My Globe Trotting Summer Vacation Congratulations! You have been given 5,000 dollars which you can use to travel the world for 3 months this summer! You just have to plan out your trip and make sure you don't spend too much. Make sure you keep some of that 5,000 for hotels and food! What continents do you want to visit? Asia Africa North America South America Antarctica Europe Australia Now choose the countries you want to go to. Feel free to use Google Maps and other internet sources to look into what countries you want to visit. You may choose more than five, but beware of spending more money than you have. Write those countries below. Time to buy the tickets. Decide on the order you want to visit the countries in, and then go to Kayak.com to find how much it will cost to fly to your various destinations. Remember that you'll start in New York City and fly from there to your first country, and from the first country to the second and so on. List your countries in the order you'll be visiting them in and the cost of flying from one to the next. Then give the total cost. Don't forget that you have to get back home to New York City at the end. You'll be leaving New York in May and returning in late July. Google “Best things to do in” and some of your countries. Tell us what you want to do in them! You can leave your answers in the comments, type up your answers in a Word document, or just print this out and answer on a piece of paper! If "X" plays first and plays in a corner, what are the 7 moves "O" should not play because if they play there and "X" plays perfectly "O" will always lose?
Feel free to use this Tic Tac Toe board to think things through! https://www.khanacademy.org/computer-programming/tic-tac-toe/5738035462537216 Give your answer on a piece of paper and prove it's true! http://ncase.me/polygons/
In the comments let us know a little bit about what you found out by playing. (To the tune of the song Pokemon World) So you want to be a master of Mathmatics! Do you have the skills to be number 1?
Challenge different sections of mathematics and earn Challenge Badges! Earn points for earning Challenge badges, and the student who earns the most before the holiday break will be the Poke-Math master! While this contest lasts every Challenge you have defeated will get you 1 extra minute when you buy music for yourself! A princess finds herself on an island with only two villages. She knows that one village has people who tell only the truth, and the other has those who always lie. She comes to a fork in the road that leads to either one of these villages and meets a villager. She wants to get to the truth-teller village. She asks him one question and then walks to the truth-teller village. What question did she ask the villager?
After you figure it out write a story about this character's adventures on this odd island. Your character is trying to make their way through a magical labyrinth where creatures ask them questions to test how wise your character is. In this place full of riddles and brain teasers how will she escape? Will she die in this terrible maze?
Share your story with the class and see if other students can solve the problem before your character does! The Hour of Code is a time when everyone learns how to program between December 8th and the 14th. Some of the awesome games available for it are available now though!
